Hi I am in the middle of building a new retail site and would be really gratful for any help and reviews i can get.please

I tried to look at your site - but unfortunately as soon as the site load I got a load of Javascript Errors: Line 122, 285, 298, 323 - Each with "Unterminated String Constant"

I'm using IE 6 on Windows XP - I suspect the errors are related to using IE6

The design is fairly basic. Hopefully the blue text which looks like a link will be a link. There is sparse detail of any kind an no information. Clicking thumbnails (especially for a review) of the Special should pull up more detail at each click.

Users will want to compare based on various criteria.

The site doesn't look bad taken alone. Against a backdrop of heavy competiion, there may be some problems. If you "use top quality products to provide our customers with the best they can get for their money," it would serve you well to back it up. This sort of proposition suggests research, comparison, information. I didn't get that from this preliminary design.

I realize that your not asking for a logo review but...I have to say that I have a problem with the tacks. They look violent, as if they're a"tack"ing your company name. This kind of thing in a logo sends a subconscious feeling of unease to the viewer. It feels (subconsciously) like someone is very angry with this company--not the image you want to portray. In general, you don't want sharp objects in a logo --especially pointing to your name. I know, I know, this isn't Feng Shui. But actually, many of the visual premises apply to good logo design.
Besides, what do tacks have to do with what your selling (besides the name similarity?)
Also, the dark blue link "Click this link..." on black background is very hard to read.
Other than that, it's fine.

Hey Judith thank you for your input and taking the time to look at my site.What you say makes perfect sence i would never have thought about the subconcious effect of a and how it would be construde.Just goes to prove how helpful a forum like this is .I have learned so much and have only just started in this forum.I would like to take the oppertunity to say How usefull this has been to me and how friendly and helpful posters like yourself
