Purpose:
Homepage for an Online Pool League that plays in Yahoo! Game Room.

This site is nearly done and about to be released to the members of my pool league. The main area I am looking for critique on is, the community page.

I have NOT yet started the process of optimizing my site for search engines yet. However, any comments are still welcome on this side of it, but be aware I haven't attempted this aspect yet :)

It's pretty professional looking and clean considering how much content you provide. I have two points which are perhaps a matter of personal taste. One, it's a very dark site which hampers readability a bit. Seeing as you are providing a lot of content (specifically forums) using relatively small type, then maximizing readability may be appreciated by members of your pool league.

Two, the auto-scrolling 'gallery' and 'shout out' galleries bug me (again, this might just be me...) and they could be slowing the site down quite a bit (a bigger issue for dial-up users). I think at least one of the thumbnails in your gallery scroll is broken.

Thank you for your time in reviewing my site. For the small type font, you have a point. It more or less fits my taste only. I had the font sizes bigger at one time, but felt the site was crowded. I will however, take your advise and I will create an option for users to switch to a "theme" with larger fonts. That way users will have an option, instead of one or the other.

Maybe I have too many things scrolling on the mainpage. I think the news posted on mainpage, about Fathers Day, only made it worse. But it will get pushed down off the page, once more news is posted. I may move the shout box to be only visible on the pages that you are viewing the forum. That would leave only the scrolling photos on the mainpage.
