Default LakersHaters.com - Sports related site

I created a sports related website in May 2003 called http://LakersHaters.com It seems to rank pretty goood on Google and Yahoo when you type in keywords like Laker Haters, anti lakers, etc. I may be putting this site up for sale on eBay soon because I really don't have much time to keep it updated. I think this site would do well for someone with a creative sports mind. Any input on my site would be greatly appreciated. One more thing..If you do visit my site, please scroll all the way down to the bottom of the homepage and you will see the RealTracker button. Click there and you can see where my traffic comes from, the search engines, etc. It's pretty cool. Thanks!

ok..first thing I have to say is..

It takes forever for it to load on my computer...and I am on DSL..

Also there is just way to much scrolling for my like..

your main page should have the main specs of your site..what you do, who you are, your opinions, etc....like a doorway, or gateway to entice others into your site..

I also find the background a little to...um..not sure..just doesn't seem to go with anything..

Well I am with you on one think..I hate the lakers too..

aha...

thanks,

Your sites background completely overtakes alot of the text on your page, and it's annoying being repeated so many times. I can't even read the name of the site without highlighting it.

Also what is the reason for the icon/logo/something in the right-hand corner of the page? Does it have a purpose or any connection to the site?

Actually the logo is not a link or anything. It's just there. Thanks for your input. Also, the reason the page loads so slow is because of the sportsfeed. Check the site in a few days and you will see the main page looking different.

I must say that you site has considerably improved. From a design standpoint it is kind of empty but what you have now is alot cleaner and easier to navigate than what was there before.

I really wanted to keep the sportsfeed on my homepage for live scores and sports news. But, it took too long to download. I thought it was just because I use dial-up connection. Then someone mentioned in this post that it took forever for the page to load even for them, and they use DSL. So, I just got rid of it.

It isn't a bad idea to offer it, maybe you could put it in a voluntary pop-up window with a big button on your homepage that says something like "Click Here for the LakerHaters.com Sports Feed." Maybe under the button you put something like "Download times vary depending on your connection."

When they click it have it launch a window that doesn't have any menus or back buttons or anything like that and set the window at the same size as the sports feed.

This way you aren't forcing them to download it as soon as they hit the page, but it is still available for those who found it useful.

That is a great idea. Do you know where I could get the Javascript or HTML for a popup like you mentioned? Thanks again.
