Tested in IE6 56k modem 800x600. Loads reasonably fast. Might be nice if the links changed colour when the mouse is passed over them. Slightly too wide for 800x600. Otherwise, a nice design. Good luck with it.

I think it needs work. The pink nav bar would look better if it met the top of the page. Maybe some font styles or bolding of navigtion links and subject titles will give a more professional look.
The banner looks out of place. I think it's because it's dull brown and grey while everything else is bright and cheery

I agree with Pat.

I see you did change the links to rollovers, from what the first poster commented. I think you should also try and find a new background, and another way to display the text.

You might also do good to brighten the text on the chalkboard banner.
