Default www.exclusivediscounts.com

Hello everyone, can I have your opinion of my website? It's www.exclusivediscounts.com

My website is about to expire soon, so I'd like to know what's good and what's bad.

Thanks, and have a great day.

My initial reaction on opening the site was "wow". I think the design is very appealing visually. It is slick and modern.

I looked at its display in both Firefox and IE and discovered that it doesn't display consistently between browsers or even between pages within the site itself.

I assume that the top white box should line up with the box box down the bottom with the lady stepping out of it (great effect btw). This works fine in the 'survey' page, but doesn't line up on the others. Also changing the text size in both Firefox and IE has the effect of resizing the boxes inconsistently, and in some cases pushes the navigation off the page completely.

Consider it a personal preference, but I think the best place for navigation is either the top, left or both. This is where most users expect to find it and so I think its best stick to this as a general rule of thumb.

Overall, though, a great effort.

I agree with the previous poster, nice design. I might add some more text in the alt tags of the navigation bar. With the Internet Links I especially I might add - get your discounts or something to that effect. Though you say it in your text it might be even clearer in the alt text. Best of luck to you.

I would also add that there appears to be a broken image link in the top right corner, and that no matter how far right I scroll, the image stays partially off screen (I'm using IE 6.0 on Win 2K).

What's all the code soup above the head tag?

Code:

Was the site built with templates? Whatever - it is putting the pages into quirks mode which may be causing the issues with the top header graphics (the top banner looks 'broken' and shifting about on my PC using Mozilla 1.5). I would add a doctype and validate the pages to find out what is causing this. It's only the home page - the others line up fine.
