Congratulations on an elegant, very attractive site. And the photography is stunning.

A couple of points - some of the pages, even those without heavy graphics, were rather slow to load even on our broadband connection. Also I could figure out what the "lightbox" was or how to use it. A couple of lines of instructions might be worth while.

Thanks for your comments Jessica.

The site is aimed at a photography enthusiast audience; in the photography world a lightbox is a box lit by a daylight balanced lamp, onto which one can look at a selection of photo transparencies (slides and negatives). Adding photos to the lightbox on the site has a similar function.

Default Good work

Hi
I must agree that your site is simple and nice to view . Here are some points in my observation:
Loading Speed : Average : 12 seconds. (5/10)
Drawback : Site has not been indexed by Google or by Alexa. Although I am not a great beleiver in Alexa rankings still it is better if you could have your site indexed by them ..

Design" : Plain and simple.
Quote:
The future of all internet websites is simplicity of design and ease of navigation and you have in both lived up to my expectation.
I also liked the image mapping on the British map.

The light background is making the site look a bit dull. I think you could experiment a bit with that.

The SEO part of the site is extremely bad.
Almost all the images are without alt tags.(On the main page) No heading tags , no comment tags and you making your site very anti-search engine types. That is the exact reason why you may not be harnessing the full potential of your site.
I liked the way your web directory is done.
Your text is well written and formatted. Good work.

Rest all is good. But you need to experiment a bit with the colors .

My rating for your site would be 6/10..

Keep up the good work.
Have a nice day,
Sparsh .

It's hard to get past the beauty of the photographer's work to truely appreciate the website (is that a bad thing? lol) The images are really beautiful, and pages load very quickly. I like the colors, everythig has a very clean, crisp feel. I did expect in a few instances that photos would link when the didn't, again not a bad thing as it kept you focused on the interaction with the map. Especially like the photographer's statewments? If he gives up on photography he could certainly be an accomplished writer. Let's me see just how much I have to learn. Thank God it's a hobby not a career path. Well done!

Thanks for the kind words Kim. In fact I have forwarded your comments to Peter (who is also in fact an accomplished writer! His photography books are wonderful).

Cheers,
Oli.
