With a name like Altydgedacht, you had better hook people or find a good way to get them to bookmark. Good luck getting people who don't live in the region to remember the name for a search or direct URL lookup. The logo, at least, would allow me to pick it out if I were looking for it.

While the site looks quite good, I am forced to ask what the purpose is. The descriptions are very nice, but there is little to guide the casual wine purchase. The perception of customers is neatly sidestepped on the site altogether.

The site looks good, but doesn't address problems for the likely web surfer from outside the region: Why South African wines? Especially since other, more familiar varieties, are a much safer, more comforatable choice.

Default Site commentary

I agree with the previous poster, though my take on the site was that it's primarily for distributors and not the end consumer. Nice look a few technical things I would change - make the buttons rollovers and include a down state as blank white space appears now when you press them. Also I would add some "Top" links on the longer pages so people can navigate more easily. On the first Chardonnay the text ends right at the bottom of the screen above the status bar, I would add in a space or so like you have on the Merlot page. Nice clean look overall.
