Default www.pops-shop.net - Here We Go

After posting my site here several months ago, it was obvious that I had to change some things around. Mission completed. Take a look at the new Pop's Shop Woodworking site.

Thanks

Default Thanks for your review

I like the site but some of the pages are too long with pics therefore you have wasted space on the pages. Try to utilize the space by placing some pics across the page rather than vertically or use the
/a name/ tag to jump down on the page if you want it to be veritcal. add some colr to the page or use a css file to add some life. I do not see a reason or how the "test your skills" and "favorite links" links fits in with you and wood working, I would remove it. The link Selected Sites under favorites is broken so I do not know what it was or how it fits in. Sometimes your ISP will have like 25 meg space for free this would be great to link to with that info. Try to reword " Being a one-man shop, I do not have much of a production schedule to keep, therefore, all my projects are uniquely hand-made to insure quality." It sounds like you do not have any business. I would put something like "We do not mass produce our woodwork therefore you are insured only the best in quality and originalty."

Overall I do like it needs some touch up work but every designer goes through that.

you need to integrate your navigation into your design a bit more. and take a class about photoshop, you need some images in there. and ditch all that stuff at the bottom, it's sloppy looking.

Unfortunately, I got caught in the art you displayed. For got to really look at the site.

The only thing I saw that needed improving was some of the pics. Maybe a little too small. Show your work off more. You do excellent work and people need to see more details.

Default A few of words of thanks

Thanks to all who have responded. Suggestions are being worked on. One thing that was not mentioned was that of the "ecommerce" part of the site. Would anyone BUY from me??????

Excellent CNC work! I'm a bit jealous. But about the site...
The layout was okay, but it is a standard Zen/OSCommerce layout. Nothing special, seen it a thousand times. Looking at the code you do need to work a little bit on it.
1. You need to add !DOCTYPE
2. You need to add meta keywords and descriptions
3. If possible, remove the java script from the code and add it to an external .js file.
4. Your title "Pops Shop" needs to be a little more descriptive, possibly even having a keyword or two. Example "Woodworking and CNC routing from Pops-Shop.net".
5. If you look at the source code from page to page, the content is all the same. There is nothing there for the SE's to look at.
6. You do have a canonicalization issue.
7. I would recommend adding a sitemap.xml file, but due to the setup of the page the URL never changes so this would not do any good.

All in all it is not a bad page. From an SEO point, the URL's not changing and source code not changing from page to page, I can see it being an issue. In having it set this way I think you kind of shot yourself in the foot as you cannot keyword any pages for any particular phrases.

I ran a spider test on your page as I was curious to see how many pages the spider would actually see. It only found 3 pages. They are:
http://www.pops-shop.net/
http://www.pops-shop.net/pops_shop1.htm
http://www.pops-shop.net/sawyer/index.php

How many pages has Google crawled and have actually indexed?
