Newly designed and subject to change.
I guess I need your help!
(and I'll help if I can).

Hi jr,

I'm no programming wizard but I've got a few basic suggestions for your site.

Firstly - blimey, what an attack on the senses!! - You're homepage is ..um.. overpowering? I am a strong believer in maintaining a standard font and colour scheme, wherever possible. I don't think that the large blue and red wording sits well.

Also, the java show is running to fast with extremely different pictures in. It's a bit assaulting and off putting when your trying to read the text. Try slowing it down, and trying the pictures in different orders, to smooth it out a bit.

The last thing is the changes of the background design and colours between pages - I find that a symetrical background is much more condusive to the reader than changing between pages.

Hope this helps

Sparky

Thank Sparky_t!

As you have probably gathered, I work a lot with/for the military and the Police. You need to "hit" them to make any kind of impression. So, if the front page is a bit "overpowering", I will take your comment as a compliment. (:-))

I do agree that the SKYExpress logo is not of my best taste. I am not even sure it comes well on all browsers. I cannot change the name (nearly 20 years old!), but could make a proper Logo. Suggestions?

The slide show is my first attempt. It is set to 1000ms between pictures. I am thinking of using a Cube rotation slide show, and a bit slower. Its purpose is only to give a bit of animation. It is the button underneath that counts. (I have just removed the click on image, leading to "404 file not found").

Backgrounds.
You have a point. Just not sure how to implement it yet.
As you see, there are various sections (non-commercial, educative, informatice etc...). I have tried to keep the background constant IN EACH SECTION. Maybe I should use the same bkg for all that is business, or reduce the bkgs to only two or three?
The fonts are the same all the way through...

Thanks again,
JR

Hi,

I've just noticed that the link to submitexpress is running the same speed as your javashow - that may be why it is taking the focus off the text.

As for a logo......I always think that a plain text logo is harder to remember that a snappy picture logo, but having said that my latest project has just a plain text logo. But a nice bold, simple, but unusual logo may stick in the mind better.

Your slide show needs to have either a link on it or the link below needs to be bolder, the show takes away the highlight of the link button, so you may find that the link is rarely used, especially as the bulk of the links are at the top right corner.

In regard to the backgrounds, a possible solution may be to take a single background (either the gradiated, or one of the jpg backgrounds) stick with the one with a slight variation on colour (ie shades of)

i would suggest something a little more clean and professional looking, better use of colors, and a better navigation system.
