This is my first website and I could use any/and all suggestions, tips, etc., to make my site better.

Decent site, although there is too much blue in my opinion. The words are blue, the background is blue, just different shades. The pics at www.tanks-vessels.com show exactly what you have. Other than that, I had no trouble navigating around you site. Everything loaded fine.

I'm afraid of getting too many colors going and therefore elected to stick with blue background throughout. What color that contrasts with blue would you suggest for my links? And do you think that having different color backgrounds on each page will detract from my site?

I visited your website, it's is totaly good for a first website try but I still have some advice that might help.
First of all, the content is good as you know what you are selling, but as for the main page title, it needs to be refined and cleaned inorder to be more clear.
Also i think you should use a bit more dull background colour, it will give a rest for the eye to read clearly.
As for the About us page, the images need to be arranged, maybe it will be better if you put them in a column.
In the Chemical Processing - Oil Field Page, you have changed the font size and you use bold font. It is better when you stick to one font size in the paragraphs through the whole site... it makes the site more official and more professional.
In the Online Request for Quote Page, it's better to make the form fields in a coloumn and not to put two or three fields beside each other. This will be better to the user and more easier.
Last, in the Links Page, you changed both the background colour and the font.. It's better to have one backgound colour and font.
Also I think that your site needs a Logo and did you consider using a web template?
