Default Site review

Hi Kathie,
Your site has a lot to offer but it's meaning gets lost in all of the text. People get bored quickly and when they visit an index page you have only a few seconds to catch their interest...and then they'll either go to the next page or jump ship. Clearly that's what's happening as you mentioned a lot of traffic but little business.
You need a clear call to action on the index page - What is it that you want from your visitors? It's not clear. A website needs to be user friendly and engaging to keep the interest of it's visitors. You need COLOR and a better navigation scheme and you need to direct your traffic...funnel them to where you want them to go. Take a look and tear apart sites that are like your own, that have a similar mission. What makes them successful? I'm not advising you to mimic anyone but there's nothing wrong with getting your creative juices flowing by getting ideas from others.
I hope this helps and wish you all the best!
