Default Review of my site - MyCandyGrams.com

A few months ago, I opened my own online business on Yahoo Business, www.mycandygrams.com. I'm REALLY new at all of this so I'd appreciate any help you can give. I especially need help with traffic, in 3 months I've gotten 1,036 hits, but I have had about 30 orders so I think the ratio is not too bad (??). I just need to drive traffic to my site but I tried CPC and it just wasn't worth the money it was costing me. Well, anyway, this is my online store, and thanks for your time and your help!

Hi MrsPhinn

Well I really liked your site.

Just a couple of things.

Quite a few of your pages have the title About Us you need to go through and change these to reflect what is on each page. Must admit I didn't notice it until I clicked back here to start writing the review and then wonder what the "About Us" page was that I had minimized. This will also help with SEO.

On the fancy gold and silver assorted is it possible to make the pictures a bit smaller as even at 1024*768 I had to scroll across the page to see everything, and yet if I click on one of these it goes to a seperate page which gives me a good sized view.

Also the navigation menu moves around on the left hand side from page to page .. might pay to put this in one position and keep it there.

Overall a very good site ... keep up the good work.

Cheers

That top graphic is great, if you did that yourself congrats!
The white text on purple is really hard to read.
Some pages are too wide, you should never make the vistor scroll across. I think if you take out some of the top graphic, or span it across the top (instead of the left menu taking up some of it on subpages) you can fix that. You might even make the left menu a line under the header graphic and take out the left menu completely, it won't take up too much space.
I think the plain white background looks better than the gradient and lines (like on Create Your Own Gram). I like that top, but not the background.
I really like the idea, might go shopping later. :)

Another thought, are any of those candies safe for diabetics? If so, you should note it. If not, you should consider carrying at least one option for diabetics. What about dieters? Is there a candy that is Atkins diet safe (doubt it, but...)?
How much candy does each container hold?

And along Melissa's line are nut-free products availble? I would like to see a line of confections across the bottom of the page... possible? bye for now!

Thanks very much for your suggestions!! I know my site is not 100% professional-looking =), I will work on it more as I learn more! Thanks for your time in viewing it and giving pointers! Well right now I don't have any candies for diabetics are dieters (sugar-free, low-calorie, etc.), guess I could work on that. Also, the nut-free confections are the hard candies and the chocolates that do not contain nuts, like the plain M&Ms and Kisses, etc. The small containers can usually hold 7-8 mini candy bars and the big containers can hold 10-5, but it all depends on the container. Thanks again every, I appreciate it!
