My site is Victory Investments - Stock Investment Newsletter. Basically, I have a few specific questions but I am willing to take any other feedback you may have to offer. We've been a print only newsletter up until now but about a month and a half ago, we launched our Web site and offered online subscriptions. We haven't begun marketing yet and before we do so, I would like some feedback.

1. How is the font of my site? I design the site using a 1024x768 screen and the font looks fine on my computer but I have concerns that it may be too small. I'm assuming it won't be small on 800x600 resolution and will look fine on 1024x768. Am i wrong about this? Also, how will my font look on larger resolutions?

2. If my font is too small, which font size should I use?

3. How is the front page marketing material? Is there too much text? I have a lot of supporting marketing material on other pages. Should I trim the amount of text on the opening page?

4. Do you have any other suggestions or comments?

Hi Victor,

I liked your site. It's very profressional and not to busy. I found the flow easy. I think you probably could go up to the next font level. With so many of us needing reading glasses nowadays :-)
it's probably a good idea to make it larger, it also makes the words on the blue background a bit harder to read as well.

You might also want to add some more content on your site. Include some free investment info. I always find that this helps readers gain trust in your knowledge.

Hope that helps,
Elizabeth

Thank you. The font looks fine on my screen but I definitely had a feeling it might look small on others. I'll go ahead and change it. I will also look to add more content on my site. Thanks again.

Before you change it you should consider that since you are not "locking" the font by using a style-sheet, then they can always use the font size control in their browser to enlarge their font size.

You may also want to look at a function similar to what this site uses to increase font size.

Bottom line is that you have a lot to read on that opening page. Keeping the font size small at least makes it look like less. Increase it and you may scare people off with "ack...too much info!". :)

Cheers,
Jim

In the main text area try adding additional margin or padding to the text to give it breathing room.

Then I think it will read more easily.
