This is my very first post, so please forgive me, I would like to discuss a small website I built www.oceanvistavictoria.com . My client liked the finish project, but asked someone for their input. The one contact said the colors I used resembled DEATH in some cultures and that it should be changed. Now my client because of the one review asked me to change the colors.

I can handle critisism, but I found the way he did it was un-professional. And before I speak to my client I would like feedback from people who are in the web-field.

I normally get input from my clients what they are looking for, but these clients didn't have any input. The color of the website is a purple/blue, but the font canvas is black/white.

I also visited this gentlemans website and found he could use a review himself.

I really liked the site and found the colours very easy on my eye.

Everything was easily well laid out and navigation was simple and easy to use. And the graphics made me want to visit especially the pool at the bottom of the info page.

Overall a very impressive site.

That said unfortunately if the customer doesn't like the colour scheme you have only one choice really and that is to change it as the customer is the one for whom you are building the site for at the end of the day.

I used to deal with this at a previous job! It's a nightmare! Personally, I've lived in four countries and all over the US and this is the first time I have ever heard of the color purple being associated with death.

I think your purple is fine your site loads quickly and the images are great!

black? maybe. red? maybe. a dark, muddy, slimy disgusting green with a headstone? probably. PURPLE? no way. that's pleasing color. i'm not sure about your bg color. i reviewed the whole site and found it pleasant and informative. saw your site too. same thing. the only person i could see relating purple to death is jimi hendrix. i wonder how your client's buddy found him?

It really bothered my for someone to critique my website that way.

The person who reffered my site as a death site has his website at www.bctravel.com.

I don't believe he should make opionions of any website.

It would have been more appropriate to say he didn't like the choice of colors.
