hey,

Ok this is just my opinion now ok..

The one thing I found that kinda caught my attention more then anything was the background..I found it kinda took you attention away from the content..

Also, personally I do not like to have to scroll down a page to read a bunch of info, specially on the home page..

I wasn't to big on the transition effect between pages..but again this is just me..

And I noticed when you go to the letters page the menu changes, it kinda screwed me up and I became lost for a second.

But all in all it is an ok site for just starting out..

My only suggestions:

1. Try to stick to a more plain background or something that won't draw the attention of the viewer away from the content.

2.Try not to put to much info on one page, unless needed, which may never be needed.

3.Try not to use to many transitions, if any(my opinion).

4.try to all most keep your pages similar..at least where the menu is, it can become confusing if it changes it shape, image, or position.

I hope any of this helped and hasn't discouraged you...

Default Thank you

I appreciate the info. Would it be better to use transition just on the first page? I am going to take the rose background and tone it down and see if that helps. Which of the nav buttons were better? Thanks.

alright I looked it over again...with the transitions...personally I do not like at all..I would not use them peroid..

The background you have no is a little better not as eye-catching..but just still seems to be in the way...

I find the the nav buttons you have now too don't really go the the theme of the site..

And I still feel there is too much text on the homepage..or at leats too far spread out..

I hope you do not find me to be a...Arse..but I am only trying to help and make your site pleasing for everyone..

I just had a quick look. One ofthe pictures does not load on http://www.gloryofhisgrace.org/picture_gallery.htm but maybe that is Mozilla for you! I do not like the black background personally, but then again, I dislike white backgrounds as well cos they hurt my eyes just as much.
I like the buttons and layout very much. The nice, big print is something that a few others should copy.

Get rid of the background all together.

Make some better looking nav. buttons and run them down the left hand side of the page. Make yourself a very nice logo and header for the top of the page.

Get rid of the black background

Once you get the layout you like keep all the background colors and page layout the same.

Default Is it important to have uniformity on the site?

I have different backgrounds for different areas. Is this a bad idea? The nav buttons were something I made because I had problems with Front Page navigations. I will check on the pictures and repair.

Def backgrounds on def pages is kinda frowned upon...you won't your site to have the same look all the way through...if it changes people may become confused and think they are on a new site...

and frontpage..ugh..my opinion..I dislike greatly...I use dreamweaver myself an dlove it..but as said my opinion..

but for your background as janeth has said better looking navs..I like the ones you have..just not for that site...

But keep up the good work and keep going..you have to learn to crawl before you can fly..

Default More changes made

Ok so I have tried some different ideas and have a second page that is not really linked to experiment with. It is at http://www.gloryofhisgrace.org/index2.htm
I need to look up how to get rid of the transitions. I put the nav buttons on the side as was commented on. I have hopefully fixed all links now, but let me know if I missed any. I really appreciate the help. I should have more time to work on this as I just graduated from BCC and I am not starting Uni until the Fall term.
