Hi,

I'd appreciate feedback on my website, http://www.BIGBirthdays.com .

I've been working on it for over three years now and whilst I keep tuning it I'm now in a position where I need views from others in the designer community. I'm too close to it to critique it myself anymore. The design issue is that it must appeal to a wide age group so I've tried to keep gimmics out of it and just keep it simple.

I have good placements in Google but for low traffic keywords, however these describe really what we offer - "Milestone Birthday Announcements" or variations thereof 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th. Sadly the Florida Google update last year filtered us out of high traffic keywords such as "30th Birthday" etc., yet we are getting back up there with variations such as "thirtieth birthday" where we are 16 out of 24,600 but I can't seem to get back into the real high traffic ones. I've used various tools to measure keyword density and tuned accordingly and now I have to sit back and wait to see what transpires as the spiders do their deeds!

I also want to add links to other websites who offer unique gifts that are complimentary to our market, ie those celebrating special birthdays but am concerned that in doing so I don't get penalised for having too many links. Anyone got any guidance on what is allowed versus what it frowned upon? Are there good links verus bad? If so how can I tell a good link from a bad one? Such concerns have made me pull back from this (natural) extension to the site but having identified people looking for such gifts it seems a shame not to benefit from revenue opportunities for passing leads on where they don't want our service. Call me paranoid, but having spent many months, no years, driving up search engine placements I don't want to risk it all for the sake of a couple of bad links...

Sorry what started as a simple "what do you think" question has turned into something far wider! But I'm sure if I'm thinking of this there are others out there too with similar concerns.

Anyway, any feedback or ideas for improvement will be greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,
