I don't know what to tell you, except I found your website to be great! I found myself really getting into the information you provided. Especially since I have 3 children of my own and have the amber ticker on my website as well. You should give yourself a big pat on your back for providing the information you do.

As far as the search engines... well, welcome to the big game! I've been playing the game for about 2 years now and I'm definately not an expert. But this is just my opinion. To get decent ranking, you need advertising money. You can have an article posted in Enzines or newsletter. You can pay for website submissions, but it won't guarentee you in a good position. YOu may want to consider to have your site reviewed for the meta tags and keywords you are using. There are several free services out there that will do it for you, but the rest is up to you. You also may want to reconsider some of your flash. A lot of crawlers will reject a site that has flash in it unless you absolutely need it. I'm not sure if I explaned that correctly, but that is what I have read from some of the enzines I get.

Have you contacted your local phone book advertising department? They usually have some great advertising options above placing a listing in the phone book. I have BellSouth and they advertise me off the online yellow pages that are linked to the major news channel websites in my area. They also will submit my site to the search engines. Since I started doing this, I notice better ranking and hits to my site. I don't know how they do it, but they do.

I really don't know what else to say since I'm no expert. Just learning as I go. Please don't get discouraged because what you are doing is admirable. If one child is reached then that is one less possible abduction!

Where might I find information on how to get these reviewed for free ?

I did not see any meta tags but did not look that hard. Your title is all wrong this is where you main key words should be.

I would get rid of the scrolling text and the banners on the right hand side of the page.

I would try some colors other then black for the background

The left hand side of the page with your nav. you have to many colors.

I would also cut down on the amount of links on your home page.

Link from one page to the next with your main key word for that page as the link.

There is to much going on with the home page.
