Default The winner is

I pick number three because a) it is not an animation and b) it has more of a left to right flow, and that seems to be more comfortable. Also that design (shape) is simpler.

I can totally relate about making logos! I am in the same boat ;o0

Thanks for the feedback and I agree with you on the third one as well.

I also made another one that is on the same page and I am now trying to decide on which one out of those two.

At 265 KB, eliminiate from contention that animated GIF. It could be done in Flash for under 3 KB, and be a whole lot smoother.

No. 3 is nicely balanced and will scale better than the others.

I see the top one as being very Miami 80's.... if you want to go for that retro look.

The bottom one has potential, but maybe not quite there yet. Maybe it is the monitor shape & angle...not sure. Maybe the globe is too far out. I'd suggest having a play with that one some.

As Grease often states, take the writing away & does the logo still make youself recognizable.

Designing for yourself can be hard. Took me eons b4 I was happy with mine :-)

Thank you for the feedback Matauri.

yea I did the first one as an 80's retro (I was watching an old show on TV that was made in the 80's and thats what gave me the idea).

The second one I made with the globe a little stretched cause with a regular round globe it just didn't look eye catching with and without the name and looked just to plain.

I stretched the globe and everyone says that it catches their eye quickly, I guess the eye sees something irregular before it does the regular.

Both of your designs are interesting graphics, however they are far too complicated to pass as brand logos. Photographic images, and complex artwork with many lines may look attractive on a webpage, but will not have the impact and memorability of a simple, striking, unique logo meant to provide a face for an organization.
Have a quick look at this site to see examples of some of the world's top logos:

Take a reductionist approach - less is more.

I am a good person to test your logo for being effective. I am german and i understand you do web design. But i am not shure what "Intercept" means. And your logo doesnt explain that to me. Try to simplify your logo (as grease said) and let the symbol explain your business.

Good luck!

vera: what Intercept means is you Intercept the Internet and you Intercept the business world, meaning you are luring away everyone from the competion and to you.

for example; I will intercept the ball (customers)while it is in motion to go to someone else (competitors), therefore meaning the ball (customers) will do business with me instead of my competitors.

grease:how is this for simple and bold

This one has the name Intercept within the letter I

This one doesn't

and this one has the name Intercept within the letter I as well and is lustered

Hi Thunder,
What is your web design marketing position? What do you do better than everyone else? Are you competeting on price, quality, creativity, technical ability, templates? Yes, your new logos are more simple, but like vera mentioned - how does this reflect your business as opposed to any other?

Shut off your monitor, grab a piece of paper and start sketching out objects that represent your marketing postition. For example, if you are marketing high quality, try to think about what objects make people think of quality, and your business name at the same time.

Once you have at least 4 totally unique concepts - hit the computer and create these ideas digitally. It's very tempting to start with the filters and plug-ins, but your initial concept is by far the most important step.

Take Care,

Grease
