Default Re: Logo for an Ecommerce Site!

Seems a bit slow to load and is a bit fuzzy. Otherwise, looks good to me.

Yea I noticed that is was a bit slow and fuzzy, I am not sure why it is so slow, could it be the image size? Also what would be a good program to either recreate this logo or edit it so that I can get rid of the fuzzyness? I have fixed it quite a bit but it still comes out looking like that! Thanks

Remember to set the edges of your fonts to anti-alias when exporting your graphics.... It will give the graphics that "smooth" look.

If you are using Fireworks, the setting is in with the text tools.

If you are using Illustrator X?, make sure to export with the anti-alias checked when setting up your export.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks I didn't know that, I used fireworks MX and I kept getting the fuzzy edges on everything I created. Doesn't help to be new to using that software either. I will try that and see if that will make a difference!

Can I edit the current images and correct them by doing that?

Or will I have to create them all over again?

--------------
remember to always save your master files as layered png's (default...) and then export using slices.... (you can set the slice to any graphic depth and type you desire)...

for text, be sure to select "crisp anti-alias" or "smooth anti-alias" in the dropdown located within the font settings (only available when a font is selected...)

For vector graphics (boxes, cirles, shapes... anything with an edge...) to be "smooth" edged rather than "hard" unless you need a very crisp line...

Also check to make sure that if exporting as JPG, set the quality under 70%... the edge degredation is noticable and not at all pretty at anything under 70....

Experiment within the perameters I have set forth... and you should get something of smoother quality....

FireworksMX is an amazingly intuitive and powerful program and I highly recommend it for anyone who is truly serious about web-ready graphic design...

Cheers,

Chris

I like the basic "EQ" mark itself -- but, it seems to me that your trying to do too much with the type. If the mark were bolded up just a bit and the text simplified and toned down I think you've got a REAL winner!

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the input gsdickson, I am glad to here that you like the EQ symbol. I really like that part also. I do not know what I want to do with the rest of the logo yet. I really want to have some thing that just makes the site stand out from other sites. Something that makes people remember the logo. I appreciate the suggestions.
