Default Happy Day Cards

Free on line greeting cards and fun pages -- also a section devoted to healthy recipes, but the main site is the cards.

Question -- does the logo really represent my web site? I use two different sizes: the one above and a slightly smaller one that is on my shopping mall page and a few other pages.

If you think the logo is wrong for what the site is and does, what suggestions do you have for a better one?

Thanks.

I really think the happy face was invented to cheer up truly grumpy capitalists... (it worked... much money made on happy faces...) and it has run its course.... LOL...

I would look at something a little more original. Use text... For some reason, a good many people think that if they utilize a word in their logo, they must back it up with a graphic representation.

Happy=Happy Face

Question... how come McDonalds, Wendy's, Arbies, Keystone, Wellburns, Hienz and many other companies, have names that mean nothing, and do so well? If McDonalds used your coporate naming convension, the name would be "Happy Red-Headed Clown Day Hamburgers"

The word "happy" denotes "happiness", or a "feeling of well being"... people rarely require a happy face to derive its meaning.... Is there another "happy" that people refer too? :)

Making people read words upside down is not good service either. User comprehension is your best friend on the Internet....text and words should all be straight up and easy to read. A good logo is like water.... it should flow, be easily recognized, little effort should be required discerning it, comprenending it and consequently, remembering it.

Start from a clean and fresh slate.

Burn a happyface effigy in your backyard and cast its horrible spell back to heck whence it came from.... LOL :)))

Just MHO...

Cheers,

Chris

"Start from a clean and fresh slate."

OK Chris.......I did, and would appreciate it if you would tell me if this one is better. I've worked about 5 different ideas, and this one will fit all the places where I have been using the old round one, whereas a more oblong design would not.

I kind of wanted to make the logo animated but didn't want a large file size than absolutely necessary. If this is still not any good, some ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi

I have to say out of the 3 my favourite would have to be the last one. But that could be because I am partial to butterflys.

Cheers

Default new logo with bird

Thanks --- now to do all the work necessary to actually use it on the site.............and then to TRY to figure out where all on the internet the old logo is posted and linking to my site: And NO, Google does not show all the links coming into my site.

It may take a while till I get the new logo incorporated, as I strongly suspect that I may have to redesign all my navigation buttons to look decent with the new logo. And might also have to do some new page background designs also, as well as to make a smaller version for use on my newsletter and other places where I don't want the large one used.

ONE OTHER QUESTION..........I am using a "sort" of smiley face background for all the main pages -- I suppose I ought to change that also? I can always throw in a plain texture, or (heaven forbid) just a plain color background like everyone else.........

"now to do all the work necessary to actually use it on the site..."

Never-ending and downright painful at times...... LOL....

Learning to develop websites can be harsh but rewarding... especially when you prefer to roll up your sleeves and go to work..... THAT I do admire....

Go with your instincts... they will always be correct if you remain inquisitive of the craft... and you are prepared to work 24x7.... of course... LOL...

Clean and simple design is always more effective and accepted by users as professional and trustworthy.... the KISS principle...

Cheers,

Chris.
