I really think the happy face was invented to cheer up truly grumpy capitalists... (it worked... much money made on happy faces...) and it has run its course.... LOL...
I would look at something a little more original. Use text... For some reason, a good many people think that if they utilize a word in their logo, they must back it up with a graphic representation.
Happy=Happy Face
Question... how come McDonalds, Wendy's, Arbies, Keystone, Wellburns, Hienz and many other companies, have names that mean nothing, and do so well? If McDonalds used your coporate naming convension, the name would be "Happy Red-Headed Clown Day Hamburgers"
The word "happy" denotes "happiness", or a "feeling of well being"... people rarely require a happy face to derive its meaning.... Is there another "happy" that people refer too? :)
Making people read words upside down is not good service either. User comprehension is your best friend on the Internet....text and words should all be straight up and easy to read. A good logo is like water.... it should flow, be easily recognized, little effort should be required discerning it, comprenending it and consequently, remembering it.
Start from a clean and fresh slate.
Burn a happyface effigy in your backyard and cast its horrible spell back to heck whence it came from.... LOL :)))
Just MHO...
Cheers,
Chris
