I'm never a big fan of working at comprehending a logo. This appears to be a collage with some swiss square extended text placed over it. Although the imagery tells a story, it is ultimately competing with text element of the logo.... and I'm not sure if the logo is the entire header?... or, is the logo within the header...?? Firstly, I would isolate the text and create something solid that you could introduce imagery to, instead of the opposite.
It appears like you spent a large amount of time on the imagery and the plopped some text over top as a finisher.... :)
I always design initially for the clients wishes (of course... don't we all... ) and even more importantly, the final output. What works there, will work nearly anywhere. For example, if the logo looks good on a letter head or business card, it most likely will transpose well to the web. Less colors are less costly to the client and ultimately, easier to reproduce in all marketing mediums quickly and inexpensively. Adhere to the KISS principle.... it helps make all design jobs simpler....
Your imagery flows nicely but you could get away with less of it and produce a cleaner, more professional look.
Just MHO Bodhi.... :)
Cheers,
Chris
