This is a logo I designed to use for an in-school group that I started at my university. It's plain, simple and gets straight to the point. Any feedback is appreciated though. Thanks in advance!
P.S The background is supposed to be trensparant, so that when it's published on our site the background is black. rids.ca/images/rids_splash.png Last edited by R. Treska; 05-27-2009 at 10:29 AM. |

Hey Dubbya,
Thanks a lot for your tips! I appreciate it. Now that I think about it, it makes a lot more sense for Ryerson to be on top rather then the bottom. And yeah, the reflections were there for web purposes, but I'd definitely remove them for printing purposes. And I agree with you 100% on the keeping it simple concept and that's excatly what I tried to do. Just kept it simple and used colours that'd stand out. Once again, thanks for input. Greatly appreciated! |

The 'Ryerson' is below the 'tagline 'Innovation and Development Society' which is an awkward arrangement.
The puzzle pieces are twice as large as the text. As such the top two puzzle pieces are sticking 'above' the rest of the logo. The text should be centered 'top to bottom' against the puzzle pieces Personally, I do not care for reflections. I also do not personally care for the disconnected middle bar in the letter 'E' in the font (there are 4 'e's in the logo) If you are sticking with the current color scheme, I would move the blue puzzle piece so that the blue puzzle piece is not next to the blue text in Ryerson. |

i think you should use the same style exactly as first place but you really need to put the "innovation & development society" under the ryerson

As was said, I think scaling down the puzzle pieces to align top to bottom with the text is a good idea. But I do think that Ryerson should be above the tagline, rather than below it. As CW said, I'd separate the blue piece from the text...exhange it with the green piece. Last, but not least, the tagline text is nearly lost in the dark background - I'd lighten the text up a couple of shades.
Other than that, I think it's very eye-catching. |
