What about full color on t shirts, website and any full color promotional advertising and black on faxes, newspaper ads or generally where 2 or 3 color is needed. Overall do you think the design is ok, does it reflect the company name and service.
Thanks for the input so far Tony |

I don't have any problems with the images conceptually, however I think they're amateurish and don't convey a high level of professionalism (No offense intended).
When it comes to logos, people expect to see clear crisp lines in a balanced image that clearly conveys the business purpose in a memorable manner. Here's an example: ![]() The message I get it "strong, reliable service" and that, if I want to be as cold as a Polar Bear, I'd best contract "Advanced Refrigeration & Air". Notice that they didn't use any tools in the image. Just the badge shape, internal imagery and basic text. It's pretty much self explanatory and precisely the sort of thing you should be shooting for. Here's another great one: [IMG}http://www.floatingbanana.com/artbackwash/AD4.gif[/IMG] On a similar tone but different niche: ![]() What I think is great about the Bowdoin image is the fact that the paw is raised to rest on the letter "B" and the head shape and position are fantastic. With the ears up, the image conveys alertness, a good trait in bears and the companies they represent. I'd recommend this style inside a badge for you. Replace the "B" with a house and add some gentle shading similar to the Bundaberg Bear logo seen here: ![]() View Larger Image If you feel this is beyond your graphic capabilities, don't hesitate to contact a professional logo designer. They're cheaper than you think and worth their weight in gold. They'll build you something that will look great when used on any colour background and on a variety of materials. You've already got a good concept, you just need to refine it to make it really zing. .02

A quick thing on the idea behind this one,
I enclosed it within the circle, the white bear is drawn in a way to show that it is protecting the home. Underneath I was going to say protecting your home, but I am not really protecting it as much as servicing it, fixing it, improving it. Tony Last edited by tonyward99; 05-15-2009 at 01:01 AM. |

Didn't like the middle one, the hammers were to bland and they made the whole thing a little one-dimensional.
The first and third were okay but I'd blend the colours on the hammer heads a little to soften the look (you don't want to see distinct bands of colour). I'd also stick to just one or two different fonts (one if you go with the first option, use the same font for the entire name) or two if using the last logo (use a different font for the tagline but keep the same one in the circle). Different fonts tend to confuse, telling the eye that the two messages are separate instead of being one name. |

As Dubbya stated, the lines need to be crisp and clean at the very least. The choppiness just makes the whole image look bad. The hammers should not be going the same direction to my taste either.

I like the color and text scheme of your Logo 7, but I'd try dropping in the house you have in Logo 6.
I agree the bear in the first ones looks a little too aggressive. The protective image serves you better, IMO. |

Im on board with Dubbya. it's important to have clean lines in your design and it does look unprofessional. In fact I would even venture to say that the hammer's are not needed to convey the theme. People get the idea with the name of the company and yes the bear does appear to be aggressive.
I would take a look at the images that dubbya used and would create a few doodles with the ideas you get from it. Traditionaly a graphic artists will start out with paper and doodel their hearts out till they find one they like and that even ends up being tweaked a hundred times. |
