So, in the last days someone helped me and provided my with a new logo design, for my free web directory.

The logo is this, but you have a better point of view if you look at it in-site.



Well, I want to know what do you think about it, how you'll improve it, if you like the font.... etc.

Weird and confusing. You have a globe of the world next to the words Basic Directory. Shouldn't it be Global Directory? Or World Wide Directory. Seems like you just picked a piece of clip art because it looked cool.

Replace with something that embodies basic...like blocks.

I'm not sure a globe is a logo. It's not something will learn to specifically identify as your company. Many might not even realize its a logo.

Personaly i like it!

Perhaps it could do with something more 'techy'... ie an image of cable or 'live wire' as an underline under the words

The globe is really nice, but as the others said, it doesn't fit with the name of the site. "Basic" is a hard word to match, but the building blocks or long, flat bricks, offset come into my mind.

The glode is generic. The name is generic. You need something unique to set yourself apart.

I generally like the logo, I would consider some type of contrasting color....

It looks nice enough but I agree with what's been said before - the globe coupled with the word basic seem at odds with each other. But it's clean and easy to read, although maybe it could do with something adding to it to create something a little more memorable and identifiable?

Logo looks ok. Maybe you can change the font.

Logo looks ok, but im of the thkning of the first review. Its sending a double message - kinda confusing

The italics don't look natural. It's like you slanted a font instead of using the italic set.

I think you're right. Several people suggest also to change the italic font. I will ask the designer to modify it for me. Thank you.

Logo is fine but I am afraid it doesn't go well with the theme of Basic Directory..may b Basic Global Directory could justify the logo.

and I really cannot find something that will represent the word BASIC very well in a logo.

The logo as a stand alone is good. But to me it doesn't tell anyone what the site is about. Your logo should be able to tell the story too, not just look good. If I saw it I would think perhaps it was a map site. Although Basic is difficult to convey, perhaps you could convey something more about what the site is about, answer a question, what is a web directory (you have to think from no one knows what this is, tell them)

When I think of basic directory, the first thing I think of is basic and direct, so with that in mind the text would be simple so italics text would not be simple

Some logos get away with including or being fashioned around text. IBM and CN jump out. Simple, elegant and immediately recognizable. This is the sort of thing to work toward.

It is hard to be critical of something that looks good. Your design, does, on the whole, look good. But it also looks cliche, unrefined. Back to the drawing board.
