Should we redesign our logo or not ?
As our website really needs a refresh, it is about 7 years old (!), we decided to redo it; I know we should have done that before especially considering we're into web design. With my colleagues we're currently having an issue about our logo: should we change it or not.
The current logo has been around for about 10 years.
I am myself not convinced and I am currently listening to arguments from both sides.
I have got 3 questions:
1) From a general point of view why a business should change its logo ?
2) Should we redesign our logo ?
3) Internally we designed a few logos and had other designed by another guy. On this page we uploaded all the logos we created including the current one. Which one do you like most ?

Re: Should we redesign our logo or not ?
- Ten Reasons for changing your company logo
- Yes, without question.
- IMHO, the horizontal logos far outshine the others in terms of layout flexibility. Number 7 is pretty good, however the "i" gets lost with the thumb.
Number 8 would be my immediate choice but you must remove the ".com" portion of the image to give it a more current appeal. While it was common 10 years ago, incorporating the ".com" into your logo might be considered "oldschool" by today's design standards.
Why is it that a busy Mechanic usually drives an old junker? Most people would say it's because he's too busy fixing everyone else's car.
While this may be true with auto Mechanics, in your case, potential web development clients might be more likely to assume that you're not a forward thinking company, that your skills are outdated and that you may not be worth doing business with.
You're right in that it's time for a major site overhaul. You want to take your site into the new millennium and give your visitors the impression that your company is current, progressive and a driving force in your industry.
You must have a logo that conveys that message.

Re: Should we redesign our logo or not ?
I very much like 13, it doesnt say much, but the design is nice, all of them are nice in fact,
No.3 I like because it looks like sun rays and as its for satellite weather monitoring, it is subtly themed. I like a logo to be a bit descriptive.
I like all the designs, not so much the last 2, but have you tried any in a nice blue like the website uses, with that orange satellite sun design, as that would be meteorological like.
3, 8 and 13 are my faves.
More I look , more I like number 8 with the satellite behind the C....neat

My vote is for #12. Keep logos as simple as possible. #12 would look good no matter what the media used or background colour.

I thing current logo is better then other coz that looking nice and by the way some qualities in it that's way you use it as a company logo. well according me that is good coz that can introduce company's bit profile and other thing there is a mouse and mouse also related to computer or net so i think thats better for your company.

Re: Should we redesign our logo or not ?
Interesting opinion here.
Perhaps I should have explained the meaning of the original logo. The colour and the name "Corobori" are somehow related. The name is a phonetical translation of Corroboree and the colour comes from the Australian Aborigines flag. Why did I come to this ? Can't remember at all. This meaning has given me in various opportunities to broaden the conversation with customers in other area and talking about a subject, Indigenous Australians, few people know.

Re: Should we redesign our logo or not ?
Well you learn something new everyday!
I remember learning about Aborigine peoples at school, and making didgerydoos out of paper roll holders, that was about all I was ever told of them. My didgerydoo was rubbish, it didnt work, probably shouldnt be made of cardboard and sticky tape.
With the new info, having seen the flag, I am liking the original logo, except, I find the word Corobori hard to read there, but do have bad eyes.

The reason behind the .com is as we removed the mouse, which was a reference to our business type, we needed some sort of reference to express we're in the Internet business.
That said I am not sure that 10 years ago a lot of companies had ".com" in their logo.

As I am seeing it everyday since 10 years that is something I can't notice and as apparently other people are saying the same.

N2.jpg gets my vote.
Nice revision with the addition of "web design". It'll look great onscreen and in print as well.
I really think it's going to work wonders for you!
Now, you've no excuse not to make millions. Go get 'em!

I like logo #12 even more if you're using a dark background.
