I like the the first and second logos. First one is a little scary
I do not like third logo at all, there are hundreds of logos like that.

It does'nt make sense to me. Your name: St.ate.men.t -- what is that supposed to mean? The first logo looks like a yellow bump with its toung out and a book on its head?? The second one looks like two eyes, or is that two people, reading a book with the moon in the back, but the moon is an oval instead of round. The third one-- what is it? I don't really like any of them, but then again I don't know what you are trying to do, but if I had to choose it would be the second one.

Of the three I like #2. However, it would be nice if it were clearer as to what to image is. I assume its 2 eyes reading the book but I actually like the idea (mentioned above) of it being two people in front of the moon or sun or something redaing together.
Good Luck

I concur, the name is a little confusing in that "statement" may refer to a bank statement, credit card statement, or something said. Without more information, it doesn't really spell out what your site is about.
It's like going to monster.com or amazon.com under the assumption that the site content revolves around monsters or the South American river. Without a significant marketing initiative, it's going to be difficult to make "st.ate.men.t" a household word. The perfect logo needs no explanation and should not be hard to make memorable, regardless of the character used. "Get-The-Job", "Home Builders Guide", "Books-R-us" or even "Office Depot" might be good examples. I do like the 2nd character holding the book though. To me, it best suggests reading a book. The large eyes suggest someone reading a very interesting book. For a book related project, putting colours aside, both are quite good conceptually. The third demonstrates a more polished business theme, perfect for a site where banking information, tax or accounting information might be available. In terms of lighthearted fun or comical appeal, it's not cutting the mustard. It needs a little tweaking but I think Simon, Paula and Randy would all give #2 a yellow ticket to Hollywood. .02 |

The first logo, the ghost reminds me, quite literally of the Pac-Man monsters, except this one seems to be sordidly licking your 'statement' with periods in it. While I can only guess what the meaning of the periods is in the word 'statement' I still like the 2nd one the best....its cute..fill us in, what's up with the periods. Perhaps if we know the context of the site, the first one might make more sense.

Thanks for your feedbacks. I decided on naming my business venture st.ate.men.t because ‘art and design’ sole purpose is to give a statement, an impact of sorts be it shocking or not. Basically, my business only deals with stocking up ‘art and design’ books and not publishing them. The periods are put so that the name itself gives a statement, no pun intended.
Your comments definitely made me think more about the logo and how it should be much more memorable and easily associated with. Hmm… do you think I should opt for a textual or iconic type of logo instead of the current illustration? By the way, the picture is actually a thumbnail. You can click on it to get a clearer picture of the logos since some of you mentioned some difficulty in seeing the designs. Last edited by voiceover; 02-15-2008 at 04:28 AM. |

Hi,
I think some changes need in your logo font style. Second one theme is cute. You just change the font. First & third very bad. But still I don't know it's matching for your current templates.... |
