This logo is for a self help SEO site that will have free tools, books and articles. Not sure if I'm going to sell the domain or not so I'm trying to keep the cost down. Hence why I'm making the logo myself.
I'm also trying to play with catch phrases that can be use in the content of the page, like.

Are your sales missing their mark, We kill the competition, Setting your sights on high rankings, The info you need to load your guns

I kind of like the concept and the play on words that you referred to. Seems to be almost infinite.
Your logo kind of bothers me a little as I have impictured a website with a black background. I hope that is not going to be the case. I also am not sure how your picture is going to render through a fax transmittal or a copier, if you plan on using it for letterhead and such.
