Thanks Dubbya! The "L" was my mistake as I didn't notice that before. I like your ideas. I do plan on going with a graphic designer at some point to finish it up. Do you recomened anyone?
Thanks again! Last edited by JasonF; 11-01-2007 at 09:45 AM. |

I'd only suggest that you actually find a "logo expert". Not just a Graphic Layout Artist.
They'll be up to speed on what's hot right now, and be able knock off a great logo in no time at all. Money well spent. Do a search in your locality for "logo design". |

I agree. I think this is a new website, but if you happen to have a website and you are looking for a way to boost the conversion rate, the #1 thing to look at is the logo (maybe its not the logo), but if the logo is bad and you spruce it up it'll definitely have a positive impact. It might not be right to judge a book by its cover, but customers do!

Why not make the F the same as the other font on that line?

good look, but it may fail to attract viewers in a group of logos, so try to improve the contrast and the F is some time misunderstandable one to the viewers that it is just a design and not a font and they just read Lowers, good work....

Excellent comments from all and Dubbya for sure.
First rule of a logo is: Must work in black and white first. New Digital Rule: Must work in the digital world and the real world. Go from there. Given it's outdoor landscaping, using imagery associated with nature would be key, such as a flower, shrub, grass, roots...that sort of thing. Right now, "icons" are not as hot as typeface based logo's that use the word as the image, conveying the concept with the word as the icon...that being said, we use an icon in our logo. So I broke the hot trend Also, the start of the logo is too bright, and won't work well in grayscale. It's also too pixelated, which on a card won't look good. Remember, you'll need to be sure it can be made small for print ads, business cards and brochures. Keep in mind that you can incorporate good use of card material stock (i.e. a linen stock with rough edges to promote the concept of the lawn in a light shade of green...) such elements blend together. You're business is about meeting people, your business cards will be critical. |
