Try going o a book store and pick up a book on branding or identity design. That should help you develop you design and evaluation skills.
"Logo" design is a science.

I like the logo, but perhaps change the color of the jet to something that "pops" off of the darker the blue. It may be easier to just change the background to a lighter color to force the black jet to pop out as well. Just a though. I hope this helps!

What are you trying to "say" with your logo? Logos communicate. To know if it is a good logo, it must say what you want it to say. That should be your credibility attributes. If you want to create sales, credible logos influence sales messages.
