I think the 2nd one is better, but IMHO it would be better if you move image to the left, or put it above the name. Because now it looks like the name is crossed out by a graphics.

I agree with Vitaly to an extent. The other option would be to increase the background image a bit so the flames etc.. expand past the letters and perhaps try adding a thin white line around the letter shapes which overlap the back symbol. I think this would give it more impact anyways and your could increase the colour contrast on the background symbol...I mean if you going to have flaming swords in a logo you might as well go for it!
