Okay, so the client opted to have the text around the logo, and insisted that orange was present.

Have a look at the revamp and let me know what you think.

Thanks!

The second one is definitely an improvement. I would offer your client a flat 2D version as well (without the emboss and shadows). Looks good though.

second is def better, but then again, as I say what my first impression is,

it doesn't fit for a design/engineering company

my first impression was, O a basketball team logo

the logo goes more to a sports market segment than actually engineering/design IMHO (same first impression for the first logo).

About the first one, the choice of colors isn't so bad, depends on the market your customer wants to reach. If US based the colors are great as US citizens are as chauvenistic as the french, they prefer to buy products/services from their country.

So the colors on the first one fit for france and USA.

So far these are the only 2 countries I know that prefer to buy homeland products/services.

I like the star design very much. I'm just wondering if the company name isn't prominent enough though, especially for when the logo is reduced.

I'm guessing it's Canadian/American so the design is a hybrid of a maple leaf and a star? I'm sure plenty of other logos use this design but it's very clever.

Thanks for the reviews!

Actually, the star shape is some sort of native crest (i think micmac from Canada), that HAD to be used. Nice guess with the leaf and star tho Razzie...wouldn't have even thought of that.

The first colour-scheme was directed at Canada('Can') and America ('Am'), hence the blue, white and red, but, we had to stick with colours that were in the crest (orange, red and black).

A simplified vector version has been created for vector outputs.

Thanks again!

I liked the first one but see that you would have to use the 2nd one. As for the 2nd one the design & engineering does not look centered, although it might be. Any way of softing the red color up some?

Second one is bettet however IMHO the text is too small in relation to the graphic. It is often best to begin with text and then add the graphic element.

Site is doing ok. As for the logo someone else came up with that for me a long time ago. The orginal is still on here some place. I could not creat a pic if I wanted to. All I can do is take a pic and than add or delete from it. Never was any good at drawing unless it was a circle or straight line. :)
