....(like Judith said)...and - as long as it fits into the design of the rest of the website, coporate image.(for a business website), etc etc - it looks good :)

Just add the "art of learning" to it and it should be ok. This is what you have on your site now.

Hi -
I like the curves coming off the 'O' (these could possibly fade out on the site with the main picture/text being close below the logo?). And I like the font you use for PORTITUDE. Looks nice. Also agree the 'Art Of Learning' looks good underneath, but not sure about the colour/font selection - maybe better with a white font colour, or a shade of grey or dark blue/black - doesn't quite fit in for me at the moment, but I definitely think it's worth keeping with a little adjustment. Possibly the use of a different sans serif font would be good - up to you!
Good overall 'encyclopaedic' feel to it!
Hope this is of help,
Darren.

Blue in the slogan somehow doesn't look right. it could do with a bit more impact (colour-wise).
But the main "Portitude" is beautiful and stands out nicely.

One thing that strikes me is how well this logo would translate between b/w and color -- something to always shoot for in a logo.
I can also see this looking quite slick on a business card.
Good work.

Re: Simple and boring?
I like the concept and the execution, but I wonder if PORTITUDE would look better not in all-caps.
Also, how is the second instance "fancier" than the first?

This is clean and professional looking. Worthy of $1,000 - $2,000 in design fees.
That said, there is something about it that it needs which would make it pop. I don't know exactly what it is though. For some reason I have a feeling that the curves coming off the O are lazy or are physically impossible. They get wide as they curve around. Although, I'm not sure if that's it.
Hope that helps.

It's a clean font. As a logo, however, it tells me absolutely nothing. The fashion for artificial corporate names is gone with the last venture-funded dotcom, I'm afraid.
"The art of learning" is an attempt to fix that gap, but it's not strong enough, not quite passing beyond the clever word combination. If it was a corporate identity, you'd end-up spending millions explaining what it is exactly you try to do. But if all you want to is to give a nice T-shirt to your mom - she'd probably take it happily and will be very proud of your achievements already.
I think you've got something going here but I won't put any cash into T-shirts just yet.
