The scanlines give it a nice touch. Very nice, but I can't say I'm too happy with the text. It's just too plain compared to the rest of the picture. It needs to have more attention than the pictures.

And NTM, how would you make this, rather wide logo, something that can be presented all over the site?

Which part of the banner is your logo?

It's a good exercise to check and see that if your logo was the size of a dime, would it still be clear and legible?

Generally, they should be one to three colors and be fairly simple.

The image you submitted would make a great start to a header on a website, but I wouldn't consider it a logo.
Scan lines do give a great effect but there is so little contrast to the lines that I had to get within 6 inches of my monitor to even see them (which I did only after reading deadbird's review). Just a little more contrast in the colors would make those lines come alive.
I have no idea what the image below the name. It looks like an cartoon version of Moe's hair, but I know that it must be something else. If you want to include the images of Betty Boop, etc. in your logo, you must get permission to use those images. Otherwise, it could be considered copyright infringement. I am sure that you wouldn't want a lawsuit, and that is exactly what could happen if you use them without permission.
I would concentrate more on the name and less on the personalities. Maybe you could incorporate an image of a movie marquee with the company name on it. That would indicate something to do with famous people. Just a suggestion. Hope this helps.

Default your logo

Hi,
I like it, but this is a banner, not a logo per se.
