Default Wich of these 3 do you like best

I kind of like the 3rd one best, but my girlfriend hates it. I'm convinced she has no sense of style!

any feedback is appreciated

Joint 2- 3... huh? not sure what you mean?

if you're saying I should somehow combine the two, lemme know how you would do it... could be interesting

so far, everyone outside this forum has liked number 2...

As far as I'm concerned, Dustin is the only one with any sense of style! ;)

I'll prob go with #2, but still undecided

I like the top one. It has more of a pleasing look to it. Middle one has to many colors. Bottom one looks like it is in boxes.

Thanks for the kind words... Ok the reason I chose 3 is because it's the one that looks the most professional. I could actually see it on a web site and I believe it would develop trust with the customer. This is actually an important logo considering what it represents. You are asking customers to give you money, so you can design there look for there business. The first thing that will happen is they will look at your look. If it makes them feel uncomfortable in any way, then you'll loose them. Now one is ok, but the text has to be equally spaced from the box on the sides as it is on the top. Otherwise the text looks to small for the box and looks odd. Which in turn makes customers feel uncomfortable and yadayadayada. Number 2 is ok except, it look like the logo should be for sun tan lotion. Also the green is too light. It's not on the same color scale as the Dark Blue / Light Orange. It's like a gradient...you need a color in there that will connect the dark blue with the light orange. I think you achieved that in number 3. Now 3 looks good. It's balanced and the colors flow from one side to the next. Now if you notice the word "day" in the 3rd logo is not even with the box that it's in. just like I said with logo 1. But the reason that it works with this logo is it's balanced by the "clear" and it's box because of it's length. Like a teter-toter. the "AS" works by balancing the two. Other thing I like with number 3 is that the "y" in "day" exits down below the box it's in. And the "l" in "clear" exits up from the box. It creates balance. If the "l" in "clear" went below the box it would make you feel uncomfortable because it's not balanced. These are some things you want to keep in mind when designing a logo. Balance, gradient between colors, and distance between objects can really make someone feel uncomfortable if not done right. Good Luck!

its like you looked into my head!

the first logo was a half-hearted attempt. I like it, but the balance within box was something i was aware of. but i do like the white 'as' against the blue background

the second logo is good, and the fact that we live at the beach and will be dealing with local businesses means that the sun-tan lotion thing you said may be actually kind of appropriate.

3rd logo:
the whole balance bit you mention with the l 'clearing' the top of the box (no pun intended... ok maybe a little pun intended...) and the day dropping a bit below with its 'y' along with the 'as' dipping below both the 'clear' and the 'day' provides an off-balance balance, for lack of a better way to put it.

also, i don't have the best eye (or patience) when picking colors. if you have any pointers w, the colors, let me know.

problem is, you're still the only one other than me that likes the third logo.

i think us artistic types are the only ones to appreciate it. what can i say, im like picasso... my logos will be worth more after im gone when a more mature generation can appreciate it!!

thanks for all the feedback

Well the first thing I do, before taking it to heart, when someone gives me a comment on a design, is look at the logos and web sites they have done. Based on that I decide what weight to give to their comment.

i agree... if someone else's work is sorry, i'm not going to put much weight in their opinion..

but there is definitely something to be said about getting the opinions of non-designers. and so far, the non-designers havev spoken: logo #2... im a bit dissapointed, but the people we will be selling to are all non-designers so i feel compelled to follow their opinions.

sometimes the best way to get an opinion is to ask a bunch of 5 year olds whose minds are 'clearer' (really no pun intended that time) than jaded older people who may think too much before deciding.

ive always been a big boxing fan and truly believe you could have better fight decisions if fights were judged by children. experienced boxing judges think too much about technique and other things. little kids just watch the fight and pick the guy that beat the other guy up.

having said that, i still like the 3rd logo the best, and not just because of all of the things you and i have discussed so far... i just like the way it looks

The 3rd one is a distraction to me. It does not look that professionally done. Looks like what a high school kid might do for fun. I am not saying I know what is best when it comes to logos. You can see this by my site. But as you two have said you both like it, the bottom line is still the site it will be on and who owns the site.

logos arent just about for use on a website.

there is much more to it than that.

they become and identity which stands alone from the site. logos are used on websites, products, stationary, shirts, hats... you name it.

its a big mistake to design a logo just for a website.

i dont think any of the designs are super great, but id like to think its better than what a high school kid might do for fun...

also, isnt a logo supposed to catch the eye? if its a distraction that means it caught your eye, for better or worse

#2 is great
it has this simple, look and feel to it..very clean feel as well... #3 is unoriganised and can be distracting from the real name.

I like the first one, except for the orange text. I might make that light blue, and then if you need orange in the logo, maybe use a stroke?

Definitely #2 - the "as day" text ties in with the sun graphic.

I go for number 3 - I like the words to be broken up ... otherwise I'm reading it all as one "clearasday" and it doesn't mean as much to me as the third one.

Anyway, I prefer asymmetrical, it give a bit of movement and "texture" - if a flat screen can have texture!

Howdy. I like #3 because it breaks up the words. It puts the focus on one word at a time. Easyer to remember thing's that way. combine with #2 and WOW! good job on all.(SW)

# 2 totally gets my vote as it blends well with the colors and it packs a lot in a small space. I like #3 as well, but IMHO # 2 would be what I would use on my own website.

Combine 2 and 3 -- your missing the sun on # 3

Place the sun on it and I would pick # 3 =)

And I would make the sun bigger behind # 3 as it's the most powerful thing in this universe!
