Hi folks

Please take a look at our logo at www.maw-web-designs.co.uk.

Someone told me it was a bit confusing to read, but I think its quite simple. The stap line of text "MAW Web Designs & Internet Solutions" goes with it in all our printed material: Business cards, Letterheads, Comp slips so its clear what we do.

I reckon you should make it more simple. What does the MAW mean anyway? It isn't obvious to people as all the letters are far too close together. The raised part looks a bit outdated and the text doesn't really fit the site. Love the poppy picture though!

Why is the maw side ways on your logo? Only reason I know it is there cause you asked for the review.

About the logo, if it were me I would have went horizontal with it instead of vertical, but that's just me. "Maw" almost appears as "man" at first glance for me, but the nearby text cleared up the distinction.

I too am curious as to why the logo word "MAW" is sideways. And if you need to look at corresponding text to determine what the logo text is, then there's an issue with the logo. Also, I was unsure as to which way to tilt my dome in order to read, and the first way - clockwise - was wrong. I'd vote for a change.

I agree with the other members regarding the sideways "maw" - s/b normal placement. The font used in your logo is too playful; use something more sophisticated. Consider providing site visitors with a definition of "MAW".

Your external links (i.e. UK Web Design Association, your one client site) need to open in a new browser window. Do you have other clients? You really need to showcase more than one web site design in your portfolio...

Your footer font color is much too light, it's very hard to read how to contact you, etc.

I just saw your same header and background graphics on another member's web site - I assume you are using a stock template and graphics for your own web design site? You might want to consider creating something unique instead of using a template.

Just my opinion.
