As you can see in the smaller version the circle border and rule are the only thing that are readily recognizable.

'Mike's Creations needs to be bigger and as long as the line below it. The 'c' of crafted needs to be capital. The forest/mountain images need a white outline round each object to work in smaller sizes...

I'd have to disagree with the white borders... I think it's less readable with it like that.

I like it, but it bothers me how the line hits the circle--makes it look like a lollipop. How about if the circle was placed above the words off-center--kind of like a setting sun...
also, I would make "Mike's Creations" bigger so that the tagline is smaller than the business name. Creates more interest as well as being more informative.

I like your suggestions. I'll post another version of this later today!

How well does it work in 1 colour i.e. black? (For Yellow Pages/faxing etc?)

Always an acid test of a logo... :)

I'd like it a lot more if maybe the trees were a bit bigger and a little more detailed and spaced out...also, make the "Mike's Creations" part a little bigger and lower the tracking (space between the letters). I'd then make the "Hand-Crafted Log Furniture" a bit smaller with similar text, also the tracking set to a lower number. Other then that I really think you are on to something very nice!
