Default www.yourweb.info new logo

Hello to everyone.

Would you please review the following logos. They are done in gif and jpg format.

http://www.yourweb.info/graphics/aalinktest.htm

Which format, how big of a logo would look best on the site. I would appreciate any and all comments on the logos.

OR

Should I keep the one we have now?

OR

Is there something out there that would be a better fit to the site?

Default incorrect image sizes

Hey there, thought I would help you out a bit.

The top two images should be at 226x225 and the bottom two images should be at 286X325. This is the reason you are getting pixilated images.

Here are sample images of what one version of the logo looks like at multiple sizes.

Regards,
Anthony

Man doesn't anybody look at this? I see all other kinds of post. 12 views and not a post on what someone thinks.

The new logo is far too complicated. The one you have now (the globe and two hands) is far better...

Auuugghhh!!!! There's that globe again...and again...

I like the colors of the original logo--looks fresh (wouldn't want stale cabbage). Maybe you could replace the globe/hands with a fun shopping cart or something?

So you like the one we have now on the site. But the world looks like we have a head of cabbage in it.

So you think it would look better if a shopping cart was in it instead of the cabbage. That would be great to see, however I don't have a clue as to how to do that or the tools to do it. Someone else did the logo for me. I liked what they did and have been using it since. However if something was to come along that was better I think it would be foolish of me not to use it.

This is very frustrating. Looks like a lot of users have looked at the logo but every few are willing to post what they feel about it. I guess I should of called this post lingere and get the response that one guy did. grin

Any ways thanks for the replies.

Anthony thanks for the hard work. I think I will leave this up for a month or two more and see what happens.

Default New logos...

The new logos are going to be hard to incorporate into letterhead, business cards, etc. The old one is much simpler to integrate into layouts.

When the new ones get made smaller, it's hard to read. Too much logo, not enough URL in my opinion. Unless you're running a huge ad campaign to make people know your logo, a little more emphasis onthe text would be a very good thing.

Brian.

I agree w/Judith - I thought it was cabbage as well. Not a good first impression. The hands made me thing of "All State" - you know, you're in good hands with All State Insurance...

I like Anthony's shopping bag concept (second post); it appeals to men and women. I imagine this logo is intended for the web and not so much for marketing materials?

The person that made the logo had added more to the orginal logo which is posted on webproworld. I cut it down to fit into what I wanted to do.

The orginal one would have taken up all of the top header part. That and it was pretty big as a file I think.

Yes the logo would be mainly for the web site.

Why would you say that the shopping bag one would not be good for marketing materials?

What in your opinion would be a good logo for both the site and marketing?

Not sure what you mean by a little more emphasis on the text. Have more text in the graphic? Just have a text graphic? Not sure

Default Well...

Business cards typically work easiest with rectangular logos. That is also easier with letterhead as well.

With the logos with the lady, the lady grabs your attention. I don't think that says "Your Web" to me. I sort of missed the text because of the lady and the globe. I think I'd personally try swapping out a new globe into the current logo.

Thought I would bring this up again. Any ideas?

Old posters, I tried to change world, but with the program I have I ended up editing more than what it was worth. All I have is paint.

Get a trial version of Fireworks from the macromedia website and have a play with that. It will be a lot more productive than paint. If you need any help just PM me =)

The current logo would be your best option in MHO. (Once you change the cabbage out for a globe).

Would like to do this but do not have a program for it and right now not the time to learn. You have a program that can do this? Care to give this a try?

I did try to update the logo once. Paint is not a very good program to do this with. I made a mess when I tried.

Looks good. At least it is not a cabbage head, like it has been called. The orginal is on WPW someplace. I think I used a different handle. What program did you use to change it with?

The green globe is a (very) good idea. But it is not contrasted enough. You don't reconize the earth immediately. 6/10 right now, 8/10 with an improved globe. The normal globe (blue) is not as good as the green one.

Ok guys the logo has been updated. I would like to thank Votekick for the graphic. He changed the green sphere/world to a blue world where you can see what the globe is.

Checked out your website and the globe is very good. I just think it needs to be spinning as it is now all of the visitors to your website would simply start floating due to lack a gravity.. <grin>

Since gravity is related to the mass of the object, and is in part counteracted by spinning, he'd need to make the globe life sized if it were to spin. <bigger grin>

But only if there were BILLIONS of visitors on the website. Since when we visit a website we are not measured by our size and weight rather are byte size.. < even bigger grin>

So the globe size should work for about a million or so =)

Selon une étude de l'Université de Cambridge,
l'ordre des lettres dans un mot n'a pas d'importance.
La seule chose importante est que la première et la dernière lettre soient

Hello webhost1,

Just tried to have a look at http://www.yourweb.info/graphics/aalinktest.htm but got a 404 error - Not Found
The requested URL /graphics/aalinktest.htm was not found on this server.

Did check the current logo on your website however, and the hands around the globe seems to be a caring, protective image to me. If that's the kind of image you're after, then great. Sorry couldn't see the others - maybe the page is now gone?

Just let me know if / when I can see it again -
Darren.

Don't know why liberywords posted in French, but you've seen the English version before.

The first paragraph is the same as below, except the letters in many of the words are in the wrong order.

Quote:
According to a study of the University of Cambridge, the order of the letters in a word does not have importance. The only important thing is that the first and the last letter are in the good place. The remainder can be in a total disorder and you can always read without problem. It is because the human brain does not read each letter itself, but the word like a whole.

Darn I forgot about this link. I took it down and deleted all of the graphics that were on it. I decided to go with the current logo since I have had so long. The only change to it is that on the orginal one the world was green and the new world is blue which shows more. The green globe I was told more than once that it looked like a cabbage head.

Thanks for taking the time to check this out. THANKS

Thanks. I tired one of those translation sites to see what language this would be. I think I even tried French. I got nothing when I tried to translate this back into English. Now that I know it is French I might try to have it translated back into English once more. Thanks
