Default zeroflux logo | Suggestions for Type?

I designed this logo five+ years ago. While I have never changed the fish portion, I've struggled with the type and modified the design several times.

Does this font work with the logo?

The full name of the company is Zeroflux Virtual Reality, Inc. but in never seemed to fit with the design, so I have always used the word zeroflux by itself.

Suggestions on how to better balance the type with the fish would be appreciated.

Thanks. :)

It's a bit hard to suggest a font face for it, because as it stands there, there is no cohesion between the graphic & the name. You could put any font face there & it would still lack the cohesion.

As as stand along logo, it's a bit deceptive because you haven't included the rest of the name. At the moment, it could be for a jewellers shop selling crystal figurines, or for an aquarium shop. Stand alone graphics such as yours really only work when it is obvious what it stands for.

I always do the font face last. Once a logo looks as it should, I am in a better position to decide what kind of font face it requires.

Cheers

Default What Image does "zeroflux" in your mind?

Thanks for the feedback.

The company provides a range of services: web publishing, apparel design, political advocacy, translation services...etc. and is basically mutating over time rather than stagnant in one industry. It eventually may become simply an umbrella holding group for other brands/companies.

If the fish doesn't fit with the name, what type of graphic would.

The fish is the symbol of good luck / prosperity in the Middle East and North Africa. The chiseled look is to add a "solid" multi-dimensional technical feel to it.

Would it fit better if the fish was more abstract and swimming? or a different graphic altogher?

This is just a suggestion.

If you want to stay with the symbol of the fish, maybe use it in it's truest form. The way the fish was depicted for the ancients. And thats as a chiselled in effect in a stony appearance. Have you ever seen the History Channel "H" made of stone on the TV? If not, there is a small sample of it in the heading on this page http://www.historychannel.com/

Earthy colours are good trust colours anyway. So your fish would symbol good luck, prosperity & trust...and have the multi dimensioan look you want. Then you could have you business name under it in Times (or similar), with a smaller slogan in plain font (arial?) under it basically describing what you are.

Block designs often lend themselves to looking good on most forms of media, because so much can be done with them.

I do want to stick with fish, so I'll design some different variations or do a different one from scratch.

If I understand your suggestion correctly, you are saying eliminate the stony appearance for the fish, but bevel the type?

Not exactly, chissel the fish in stone, and the text in Times font face. You can make it stone, or if you want to add a bit of pizzaz, chissel it in a gem stone, maybe quartz.

Like I said, just a suggestion.

Good luck :-)

Default EGtrix Designs

hello,
The fish looks really great, but what about a more bold font and a total oval frame for the logo, I think this will hold the whole design together
