Default Unique Notecards & Prints

I started out as a graphic design business, but am now focusing on a line of greeting cards. I'm keeping the name, but needed to change the logo. Here's the new logo idea. What do y'all think?

Hi designhead, I like the look of your logo - I think it will work well for a greeting card line.

The only comment I have is on the "g" in Design. The curve in the "g" looks like an upper case "P" so at first glance I saw "Design Head P". Maybe scale the "g" swirl back a bit.

Just my opinion at first glance!

Thanks Marcie. I respect and appreciate your input! I definitely see th "P" now. Arrgghhh--logos! Hmmm..I'm curious to know if anyone else saw a "p" before reading Marcie's post. I tried losing it (the swash, not my mind) but the logo loses some charm without. Making it smaller screwed up the balance. SO, if no one else sees a p, I'll keep it (maybe it will help people remember I have p-p-p -prints) Otherwise, back to the drawing board.

I like the first onee much better. The only things I would change is:

Remove the color behind studio - too busy, too many focus points.

make "Unique notecards…" smaller and move the line of text up and to the right so it is centered between the the bottom of the P and the end of the logo. That will help balance the logo a bit better.

Just my thoughts.

IT'S NOT A "P."
Oh well. Thanks 815. I like your work. I came up with this version last night. I know you liked the 1st best, but...there's that darn "P" and it was feeling a bit busy. I like this one. but...well, what do you say?

Of your two new versions, I like the second one (the last). I looked at your web site, which is very cool BTW, and think the second would look best.

Love your designs, I enjoyed looking at your site.

Thanks so much Marcie. I REALLY appreciate your input.
Just to clarify--do you like this last one best of ALL the versions?

Well, I like the very last one in regard to font and I like the very first sample with the blocks behind the D and the S.

So....maybe a combination of the two?

Yeah, I kind of missed the two boxes too, because they symbolize cards+prints.
I like this version. More like the 1st, but simplified. Comments? You guys are a great help. As a doctor should never perform surgery on a family member, so shouldn't a designer operate on her own logo--too close to the subject.

IMO, I think you nailed it that time. It definitely looks like a unique cards logo. Great work.

I know what you're saying about doing one's own work. I'm just now getting back in gear to work on my own site, which hasn't been up in months partly for that very reason. Best regards designhead!

AArrhhggg!!!MAKE ME STOP!!!
Thank you all SO MUCH for your input. I simplified simplified and this is now my FINAL final. The narrower width looks better on the back of a card and I can get small without losing readability. So, unless someone sees a "P" in there...

I agree with jawn_tech - the last full-length one is very nice. Of the consolidated two, the one with the black "D" is much stronger. Your overall identity could use both the full-length one and the consolidated one, depending on what the context is. VERY NICE!

Good point 815. I appreciate your input very much. I had started using the last one on the back of the cards, but now I think I'll go with the one above that (the black D) if that is the fav. I may also use the longer one that matches, at times when a horizontal design will fit better.

Thanks to all!

Default You got it right!

Nice and simple clean designs. So which is your final now? I prefer black D then the reverse white!

I liked your 2nd one the best.

Looking at the first one it does look like a P is in there.
