Default Logo Company Couldn't Cut It

About a month ago I hired an on-line company (egtrix(dot)com) to create a custom logo for my company. I heard of them here on WPW after they had won some kind of graphics contest. After politely saying "no" to a few of their concepts then not hearing from them for weeks, today they "emailed" me a refund. I guess this means they just couldn't cut it. Nice professionalism (they didn't even bother to notify me!)....not to mention a huge waste of time.

Okay I'm done venting....lol

What I'm wondering is where can I find someone who is capable of actually designing me a very cool custom logo?? All I want is something "chrome" or "silver/icy" looking having to do with vehicle lighting. My products are "cool" and my domain has the word "cool" in it so therefore I need a cool logo.

Who would have thought it would be this difficult!? Can anyone help?

If you could send me a full design brief, I'll certainly consider it favourably. :)

Default Cool Logo

Cool chrome icy effect should be applied after you got your final design. Have you? If you already got the final logo design adding the effect should not be very hard but if you still looking and searching for your ideal logo.. it may be a waste of time (both you and designers). Direct me to your website or email me your requirements

Default Cool Logo

Hi! Have you got a final logo? If yes, adding the cool icy effect should not be a problem. If no.. you must get your ideal final logo first and the effect comes later. Normally we present our initial designs in black and white and add the color/effect once the final logo is confirmed. This will save our time! :-)

Email me more details.

I wouldn't call them unprofessional. Not every designer can please every person. They refunded your money, meaning they worked many hours for free. Lots of companies would keep the deposit. Seems to be they just figured you were never going to be happy and they decided to cut their losses and earn a living. It happens. You're no out any money, seems more than fair.

I'd have to agree. The ones I've been looking at lately tell you up front if you don't go for any of the concepts they will refund the money and part ways.

Hi there,
You can take a look at our design portfolio too.
If you like our work don't hesitate to contact us.

Also, you might consider sponsoring a contest in here for a logo design; there were some that gave good results.

Excellent work visually,

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...giaetc.com/%2F

http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/v...stalgiaetc.com

html 4.01 code doesn't validate though.
Nor does the CSS

But only minor "bad habits" same ones I make myself and have to have the validator tell me to fix it them.

Validation is a key factor in ranking in the new msn search and we are finding this to be very helpful in how many sub pages make it into MSN.

Our CMS system is starting to get a lot of people asking for Templates and it would be nice to just turn them over to company that handles our templates specifically. They complain about the default templates but they weren't meant to be used only as a guide to building your own.

We are about to launch six search engine companies using our software and I am sure most of those clients will want a theme done up.

Not to mention some Cookie cutter themes could be sold over and over.

There's been a lot of discussion around this. MSN may suggest this but their results do not. Validation is not proving to be any factor in the top listings. Just a couple of examples...

Search "Web Hosting" top 5 results do not validate

Search "Web Design" top 5 results do not validate

Search "SEO" top 5 results do not validate

"Clean code" makes it easier for any spider to index and crawl, but I have yet to see where "validation" has become "key".

  1. Check his signature. His website is in it. Mind you, that would require you to read his signature, and appaarently you don't want to do that, I'll make it really easy for you: http://www.bluelement.co.uk/portfolio.htm
  2. I'd say he's a bit older than 16. 19-20, perhaps. Granted, that doesn't make him all that old (I'm 28), but he's not that young.
  3. If you're going to ask him to make templates that are "error free" (with no mention of how you'd validate it), perhaps you should run a grammar checker on your own posts so that "your" don't look like an ass.
  4. He was responding to a service request. He wasn't asking you for your opinion on anything he's doing.
Keep that sort of thing to yourself unless someone's asking you for it (and before you decide to turn it around on me, don't waste your time or energy because I really don't want to hear it). That's not cool.
