Logo Review for solar & wind energy product retailer

We've been using this logo for over 4 years now and we're considering revamping it:

I welcome comments, suggestions, criticisms.

Background on our company:
We're a catalog and on-line retail company of renewable energy products for residential use, such as solar electric panels, wind turbines, solar heating systems, micro hydro electric systems and energy efficient appliances.

Great content. Follows my credibility principles. Just replace things that are inside, or overlap to communicate better.

For some reason it shouts 'Japan' at me.

Wasn't that sun image with the rays (but in red) something to do with the Imperial Government during the Second World War?

<edit - found it: it was the Naval Ensign>

Are you sure you want that pseudo-link?

hey sascha,
I think the logo looks great, and if your are going to change it, I don’t recommend changing it to much, since you had it for 4 years you already have created an image people recognize by. But I do have a small change, how about changing the sun image, instead of having just the sun there, move the sun to the left corner of the box and use wave lines stead of straight ones, so you creating the effect of the rays actually hitting the words. to give the illustration as if the sun is charging up the letters.
