Default Charter fishing logo

This is my first draft, I like the direction so far.I was also wondering if it is obvious if the fish represents an "L" for "Lucky" or not. I also think I need the prase "Fishing Charters" underneath but it isnt fitting in correctly. I also chose a random color, after the logo is complete I will base the website around it.

I was also interested in suggestions for a better/more suitable font.

Thanks for your opinions

Wonder if the cigarette brand is in any way likely to find your site infringing - probably not, and they'll probably never see it, but worth considering a bit if you plan to grow this to be a large entity.

I think that you might consider, if you have a graphical artist or the ability yourself, abstracting the fish somewhat, such that the "L" is a bit more obvious, and the fish more hinted at - the line and pole make it fairly easy to figure out...

Agree that the Fishing Charters text needs a new font (probably not in italics), and try to keep from touching it to the pole handle there, I would recommend. The "Strike" part I like in terms of the white on [any dark color] but a less wavery font would help it stand out and be more legible, especially as you resize down for smaller web logos, etc.

The "ucky" is a bit "icky" (or ichthy? - sorry, have to entertain myself somehow) but I think you have the right idea that here is where you can use the most nonstandard font in the logo - you haven't quite hit upon a perfect one yet, but scrolling through a few hundred in Adobe ought to let you have a breakthrough there.

Overall, a good start on what could be a creative yet legible logo. Cheers!

I love the idea but would have never thought of the fish being the L.

It looks like itīs just down to fine tuning it.

On first glance, I saw the "L" in lucky. You might want to tip the fish just a tad in a counter-clockwise direction to make it more of an L-shape.

I like it!

I like it alot - The word lucky is just fine for me. The brain gets tricked into seeing the L before you even concentrate on the actuall spelling.
