Nice site!

The outline of the letters look a bit ruff... I mean rough, rather.

(sorry, had to take that one.)

What I'm seeing as a whole is more of a banner than a logo, but it is a good start to work with.

Well, here's my suggestions.

1. Thicken the letters, decrease strokes (outlines). It looks like it may have been slightly distorted upon shrinking them. It may depend on which graphics software you're using (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Fireworks), my advice is to get the graphic the right size within that software and don't resize it elsewhere. If you're working with vectors, it's best to do all resizing before becomming a graphic.

2. Like I said, it doesn't yet appear to be a 'logo' per se. You could try moving the words so they are aligned and stacked vertically, like...

The Dog Lover's
Ultimate Guide
Web-Rover.com

...instead of being spaced across the banner.

Remember, one important thing about a logo is that it should be able to be used across various formats, such as print, web, emails, newsletters, letterhead, etc. Not all venues will have the space for a large banner.

Well I hope these suggestions help, and keep up the great work with your site.

Best regards...

Hi, yeah its really more of a banner than a logo the things you showed. Also the slogan, The Dog Lover's Ultimate Guide. I'm not sure if this is good english, I think it would be better to say The Ultimate Dog Lover's Guide, otherwise you are saying that its a guide about ultimates that belongs to dog lovers - but its unlikely that anyone without a warped brain like mine will think of that. With regards to the logo, perhaps have a dog in a car to portray the rover bit. Or perhaps a dog reading a book, to portray thats its a guide to dogs. I think its better to use a cartoon type dog rather than a real dog. Well, thems are my thoughts ;)

Consider using a different font, something more fun. Be sure to create the web banner the same size of your table cell, too. If you resize the image down, your text becomes jagged, as in the image shown.

(Don't forget your apostrophe ie. "lover's" because this is possessive.)

Erm, not so much a logo thing but your site is scrollable even at 1024*768 res, its a nitmare to navigate at 800*600. Are you using absolute values for your table/div tags? or maybe the image of the dog in the center pannel is just too large. I dunno but its the first thing i noticed and it will be the first thing visitors to your site do.

Hello,
I think you should use an illustrated shape of a dog instead of using real pics, and reduce the width of the logo in order to give you the logo feel.
What if you used the name of the site with the same font and the illustrated dog shape up to it without using borders or backgrounds, I think it will look much better this way.
Regards
