I like it...it's clean and it flows. something people could really remember. I would just play with the colors a little. Mix it up a bit. Who knows maybe you might stumble across something...
good luck

I tried a few different color combos and didn't hit on anything that I really liked...

My brother keeps telling me the same thing... "kinda
looks like Google, Parris". Not intentionally, though. The site's still under construction, so I hadn't really added anything else until you said that it looked like Google, too.

I took time today and added a few photo's so that it wouldn't look so Google-like...:) Checked out some of the logos that you've done for clients on your site. Very Nice Work! I'm impressed. Thanks for your review.

Thanks.

Another thing I noticed on your set is that you do not have the same menu on each page. Might help with the feel and look of the place.

On reflection, I think it looks a little like a top hat rather than a push-pin. Could be confusing... :)

Now Marcie, who's comment above about Post It Up's logo was "Love it! Great use of the push pin, really creative" might say that it looks a little like a push pin rather than a top hat. No confusion there... :)

It's all in the way "our different brains" process information. I totally understand where you're coming from, though. I'm still confused about names like Yahoo!, eBay & Google... Go figure! Have a GREAT! Holiday weekend.

Hi

I also saw a top hat. Must be the exclamation mark's dot below that confused me, but it's clever use. Looks like a LogoYes creation to me. I like these vector designed logos. Always nice and clean.

Default Top Hat

Yes, first thing I saw was a top hat as well. Maybe just remove the dot below the exclamation point and extend the pushpin a bit.

Just an idea.

Default Top Hat

Yes, the first thing I noticed was that it looked like a Top-Hat as well. Maybe try removing the dot under the pin and then extending the pin or the whole pushpin down a little.

Just an idea. Otherwise it looks nice.

Default I saw the top hat also

It's a really nice logo, but at first I thought it was a top hat, but then I made the connection between 'post' and a pushpin, so I realized what it was.

I think if you stretch the top of the push pin just a bit it might make it less confusing.

Also, what might be easier - try swapping the blue and the gold (so the top of the pushpin is blue, and the exclamation point is gold). Normally, the pin part is silver, so it is less dark than the plastic 'push'.

Another idea is to try changing the pin part to gold (keeping the top part gold, so it is all one color), and leave the dot blue. Maybe you can post all three possibilities and we all can give our opinions.

Nice work!
Andrew

Andrew Crane - you should start using that name everywhere - like Danny Crane from The Practise ;-)

I really like it - doesn't look google like at all to me!

I did think this too but also got that it was a 'push pin' after I read the site name again.

Similar to Andrews idea: Why not introduce a 4th colour and make the exclamation mark and the pin head the same colour to show that it's intended to be one object. I think it would stop you from separating the two parts of the pin. Even with the dot the same colour, i think it would make this more obvious.

Finally I can leave this board in peace. Clean, balanced design. One suggestion, tone down TM and move it to the right past thumb tack.

Thanks Guys!

I appreciate all of the feedback. I'm working on making a few changes based on the suggestions of everyone here. We all know that it's a never ending process... Seems like it anyway :)
