Default Slightly Different Twist

I designed the logo for a site I manage:
http://www.stonnie.com

But this is a rough sketch of the logo I originally started with. The client didn't like it so I changed it to the one currently on the site (which the client is pleased with.) But, I liked the idea of the original sketch since I felt it followed the basic principles of logo design better.

The malinois (on left) illustrating 'training', the swissy puppy just being generally visually appealing, conveying the fact that the kennel's clients have "the right sort of dog" <g> and the snoopy-esque doghouse representing boarding and giving the impression of trust.

I think with the more modern look we went with for the site it would have been difficult to make the original logo 'fit' but I just wanted some imput on whether I was on the right track with it and in general what anyone thought of either/both logos :)

Thanks!

Barrie

Default Logo Review

Barrie,

I really like the logo on the web site. I know that isn't what you wanted to hear, but I like the simplicity. The fact that you had to explain the original drawing to points out why I like the new logo.

The logo on the site is a great logo. Easy to understand, has all the important info, and would work well for your client on all mediums. I think you did a terrific job for him!

Thanks Wes :)

I guess I'm a little defensive about the old logo idea which is why I explained the reasoning behind it. I never could quite get it to look the exactly the way I wanted either ;p

I would still have liked to tie 'boarding' in as a theme in the logo on the site but, if it ain't broke...<g>

Hard to say what the logo is when you go to the site. If it is 100 stonnie, I don't care for it. If the logo is at the top of the page, the one that comes out like a marquee, I don't care for it either. Takes to long for it to be spelled out.
