Default New website for escorted Amazon holidays

http://www.amazon-holidays.com.

I am trying to get across the escorted nature of the tours and getting closer to nature. We offer fun tours for most age groups does the logo work as far as this is concerned?

Site is not finished yet but any comments are welcome.

Neil

Default Amazon Escorts?

LOL, I quickly glanced at your subject heading and read "Amazon Escorts" - and then thought... Whoa!

Apparently, not however.. so all jokes aside.

I See where you are going with the umbrella, but your point is missed. The logo reads: "Ah holiday" at first glance and the "mazon" is lost under the umbrella.

You've put emphasis on the "h" be making it orange - I'm assuming that it represents the handle on the Umbrella. But I think you should switch that around, and make the "A" the focus.

In any case, I'm not sure if the umbrella really represents what you are doing - It's an eco tour, but an umbrella more represents a stroll through a city on a rainy day. People don't go on trips to places like the Amazon to feel safe - they expect a little danger and excitement and fun.

I'd say focus on the nature and the fun - the "escorted" part will come through in the text and reassure the nervous traveller that way.

I'm sorry I'm leaving this critique more open than closed, but I really think that you might want to consider starting again.

Well that was honest and helpful. The reason for the umbrella was to try and convey that we look after tham and also that beach holidays are also possible. Misses the mark though.

We have thought of many uses of typical amazon animals like the tree frog etc but can not seem to get the escorted (and therefore trouble free and safe) aspect across. Can anyone give me some pointers here.

I did think of having a frog leading some people in a line. Or should i just have a logo which is just different and have a tag line that states that the holidays are escorted/safe etc. We have found that most people are after a little excitement but that it does not extend to wanting to feel unsafe. That tends to have a negative effect.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Neil

tip: dont try and convey everything in your logo, if you could do that, you wouldnt need the rest of the site!

I was hoping to see "Amazon Escorts" as well, shows where our minds are at.

I agree, the umbrella is a distractor, and really shouldn't be there. But you might explore the "Ah" aspect that the initials create. Ah! set in the right font gives a refreshing tone (you are close here I think, many sucessful marketing campaigns are created with a logo consisting of just 2 or 3 letters, and the right caption. (look at Verizon's "IN" campaign which is just about everywhere.)

If you are going to tie in an animal in the logo, I would go with comething colorful, like the Fruit Loops Toucan. That bird instantly places a breakfast cereal in the mind of anyone who sees it... get the idea? Your "Pink Dolphins" might be the ticket, and everyone loves monkeys.
