Default I.T. Magic Logo

I.T. Magic offer a range of services, including:
  • - Domain registration & hosting
    - Web design
    - iPIX 360-degree virtual tours
The 'Magic' part of the name is important to me personally. I'd like this brought out in the logo, without it looking cheesy or unprofessional. (No magic wands etc!)

The graphic in the first logo is a representation of the Borromean rings. Borromean rings are three interlinked rings such that no two rings are linked. In other words, the three rings cannot be separated and yet no two of them are linked. (Used in topological magic effects and, I felt, I nice representation of the 360-degree virtual tour element of the business).

I'd be grateful for a few opinions on the following examples... Likes, dislikes, suggestions for improvement etc.

Thanks in advance,

Jon

Hello jon_itmagic,

I like your logos! Good work!

I think first logo is the best. But try to remove shadow from rings and change the color of I.T. MAGIC (maybe try color from the second logo) - I think it will look better.

Good luck!
Vitaly.

Thanks for your reply Vitality :)

I'm finding this whole process very difficult! I really need to get this right, but I'm on a short timescale. It's good to get a fresh opinion... If I stare at these things much longer, I'm gonna start dreaming about them!!

I *think* my preference is 1, although the Borromean rings probably don't convey 'magic' to most. I've eliminated 2 & 5, but still like 3 & 4.

Jon

Definitely number 1...

Swooshes are long dead and sooo yesterday!

Needs some good text treatment to compliment it though. :-)

Nice job!

Artwork from #1 and text/text color from #2 (no italicized text, navy is too dark).

The rings in #4 remind me of the movie "Contact" so the rings in #1 are more unique.

All your feedback has been really helpful - Thank you!

I have a question for Eagle... You say it needs some good text treatment - I'm a little stuck on this! Do you have any suggestions?

Jon

Hi Jon

Sorry for the delay in replying...been so busy. :)

All I mean is just try to find a font thats a little more complementary to the logo (softer?). At the moment, the italic font, because it's leaning, is leading the eye away from your logo! It's as if they don't like each other :)

On a psychology front, a potential client/customer may get the subliminal impression that there is disharmony within the firm!...

Hope this helps.

Mark :)

Number #1 is good but I agree with loosing the shadow..

I quite like number 3 as well but without the star in the at.

I am undecided as I think in No.1 the logo is too big compared to the text but in number 3 the name is complemented by the colours rather than taken over by them in the 1st...

Either way I wouldnt have thought bad about any of them if I had seen them on the site.
