Hmm... Well... it looks "whipped". What are the client’s services? What do they do? Who are their clientele or who are they trying to attract as clientele?

Sorry for being so blunt. I just think you could do much more with this logo then what you have done. Not knowing what the client you're working for does makes it a little difficult to make suggestions on where to take this logo.

Keep plugging away at it. That’s just my two cents though.
