Hi Cajunchess,
I understand the feel that you are going for, however, your logo could be much more effective if you were to reduce the details. Can you just use the chessboard and the sax? The knight and the and sax? Every additional detail (colour,shape,line) makes the logo more difficult to remember. Memorable logos are important in building a brand and brands can sell much more easily.
