logo review
Hi,
Here's some feedback. There is a bunch of negative (sorry) but I've tried to offer positive suggestions as well. I'm assuming that these are not just 'sketches'. If that was a wrong assumption, I apologize...and you can ignore half my comments :-)
Visuals:
I found your logos too hard to read and very unprofessional looking. (I'm looking at them on IE6 at 800x600.) The logo print was jagged as was the oval, and the flower was blobby. Also, the affiliate stuff faded in and out. Visually I thought they were pretty bad.
Concept:
I thought the concept (the oval and the flower) was fine. Once they look crisp and professional, I thought it would work. It evokes 'femininity'.
I prefered the text offset in the second logo. I don't like the way the text covered the entire image in the top one.
I don't particularly care for "Get Beauty Products" as a slogan for a logo. It's fine for your URL, but I don't think it works at all with your logo. The flower/oval/pink = feminine while "Get Beauty Products" = abrupt/harsh/demanding.
It's not necessary to have your site title in your logo. In this case, I'd think of something else...some more feminite slogan. (I admit to being not real wild about Stuff 4 Beauty either...'stuff' seeming too dismissive for the products you're selling, but you've got it, and it visually works with your logo much better than the other one.)
Misc:
I looked at your website (stuff4beauty). Are you doing your own graphics? It kinda looked like you were. (I'm referring to the existing logo, the shipping graphic, and various buttons.)
If so, I'd really suggest that you hire someone to do them for you. You can do it pretty cheaply online nowadays. If you compare your graphics to those of others on your site, the others are generally crisp and clean while yours are full of background noise. Perhaps you've compressed them too much? That's always a possibility.
Well, I hope this helps. I hate having to be so negative when critiquing something for someone. You do have a good start, though!
Take care,
Kendall
